Pure Beauty Consultant of the Year 2011
Julie Last, Beauty Consultant, Boots, Sudbury
Julie was overjoyed to win the overall award and be named Pure Beauty Consultant of the Year 2011. A deserving winner, Julie stood out both in her entry form and on the judging day thanks to her enthusiasm for her job and all things beauty, her infectious excitement and her lovely, bubbly personality. While regularly beating her targets for her No7 sales, she has achieved double-digit growth in fragrance sales in the last 12 months, which spurred on her store to be in-line for a mini re-fit, including the replacemnt of the fragrance counter with more customer-friendly cabinets to give a premium feel. Her manager sees her as a motivator in her team and she regularly helps her colleagues by serving their customers when there are long queues at the tills. Julie says: “I still can’t believe I won the Consultant of the Year award – I can’t tell you how proud that makes me feel. Saturday at work was great – all my customers were going crazy and so happy for me!”

Independent Pharmacy Consultant of the Year 2011
Harsha Mistry, dispensing assistant, Samat Chemist, Leicester
Harsha’s store has achieved around 25% sales growth in beauty over the past 12 months. Harsha has to face competition from high street stores and supermarkets when it comes to beauty sales, so this is no mean feat. Her obvious interest in her customer’s lives as well as her ability to encourage them to return to store made her the winner in this category.

Supermarket Consultant of the Year 2011
Hazel Pearson, Beauty Assistant, Tesco Extra, Aylesford
The supermarket consultants have arguably the hardest job of all, as they are usually one of a kind within their stores and have limited areas in which to produce enticing sales displays. Hazel took her store from behind target last year to being one of the top five performers in its group. Her real passion for the products she sells is clear to see – she prides herself on trying as many as she can so she can advise customers.
Finalist: Kelly Vince, Beauty Assistant, Tesco Extra, York
Finalist: Carol Cainey, Beauty Advisor, Tesco Extra, Trowbridge
